Modern Fears

Modern Fears

Nowadays there are lots of strange and very astonishing phobias in modern society. Most of them are caused by the pressure of 21st century living. From my point of view, that is not normal. We have to take some actions not to let the world get cranky.
There are really hundreds of fears, so I would like to tell about some of them, which seemed me really abnormal. First of all, I'd like to mention Phobophobia - The fear of phobias. That's very strange, I think that nobody can normally explain, why people suffer from this problem. The second abnormal phobia is Cyberphobia – It is the fear of computers. As for me, this is very unpleasant phobia: people can't even normally work or get some new information from the net. The last fear, that I'd like to mention is Ancraophobia – The fear of wind. The is very deplorable disease because people can't walk outside, when it is not a very good weather.
In conclusion, I would like to say, that phobias are very dangerous diseases and, if you understand, that you have one, you must immediately go to the specialists. It is very important.

Modern fears

Fear - this is a standard security feature of an organism. But we should remember that sometimes it becomes a constant and interferes with life, turning into a phobia.
Seeing a scary movie is a good type of fear. It is fear generated by our imaginations for the purpose of entertainment. Another good type of fear is the fear generated by adventure sports such as skydiving. Those who enjoy skydiving realize that there is a certain amount of risk involved with the sport. If things don't go right the skydiver could be seriously injured or killed.Leaving your parents, for instance, is a very frightening circumstance. Leaving home where your protected and cared for is something that you have to do, it is a part of growing up. Learning how to pay your own bills and manage your money can be scary at first, but like all things it something that you must overcome.
In conclusion, I've now realized, although too late, that you don't have to avoid your fears; you should instead face them to overcome them. Running away from your fear only makes your problem worse. Like the saying, "he who fights and runs away, lives to fight another day,“

 Modern fears

As ous life has changed, comparing with life in the past, our fears have changed too. A risks of being injured in modern cities has increased, despite the advanced level of medicine.
Among all fears and phobias, Nomophobia (a fear of staying without a phone) is most spread. It may be caused by habit of constant communication with people, because we got used to be on call.
Some phobias of 21-st century are related with wars. For example some people are afraid of atomic explosions, it calls atomosophobia. Nucleomituphobia - is a fear of nuclear weapons.
Also, there are a lot of illegal forces, which appears from time to time and break the law by doing terrorist acts, often with devastating consequences. So that the majority of people have fear of terrorism in their everyday life.
To my mind, all these fears are rational. If you know, that something terrible can happen to you , you will be scared about it.
To sum up, I would like to say, that ordinary people have fears or phobias and in some, it is normal psychological fact, because everybody try to resist threatening events or situations, which we don't want to face in real life.

Amazing Survival Stories

Enter Mauro Prosperi, a Sicilian policeman and Olympic pentathlete who decided to wager his life on this race, because what else was he going to do in Italy? Eat amazing food and bone beautiful women in the sunshine? Please: Jogging up an infinite sand dune sounds like way more fun. Four days into the race, Prosperi had worked his way up to seventh place when a sandstorm arose. The rules of the race state that whenever a storm hits, runners are supposed to stop and wait for assistance, but Prosperi decided to screw that noise right in its decibel hole. He'd been to the beach before; a little sand never hurt anybody. He wrapped a scarf around his head and kept on running.Through a sandstorm. When the storm died down six hours later, Prosperi found that trudging through the desert blind and disoriented had sent him so far off course that the flare gun he fired was seen by nobody but himself. Completely alone in one of the world's largest and most inhospitable deserts, Prosperi had no choice but to keep on walking, even resorting to peeing in his water bottle to preserve fluid. Eventually he stumbled upon an abandoned shrine, but rather than get encouraged by this holy place, he made the reasonable decision to rip bats heads off, drink their blood, and slit his wrists. We have to assume that the shrine was to Dio and Prosperi had tried to go out in the most metal way imaginable to appease His Holy Diver-ness. Miraculously, Prosperi was so dehydrated that his blood had actually thickened to the point where his cut wrists were unable to bleed out. When he awoke with nothing but a couple of bitchin' scars and a headache, he felt a renewed confidence and decided to fight for life -- although it seems like death had pretty clearly rejected his advances, so what were his options, really? For the next five days, Prosperi continued to push through the Sahara, eating lizards and scorpions and drinking the dew off leaves until he stumbled upon a group of nomads, who informed him that he was now in Algeria, 130 miles from where he was supposed to be.

My ideal round-the-world trip

To my mind, travelling is great, it is interesting and it helps you to find yourself. If I do round-the-world trip, I would include countries and cities where people have the most different lifestyles. In addition, these places would have different climate.
For example, I would like to visit some tropical countries to lie there on the beach, eat fresh fruits, swim and just relax.
Then I would go to a big noisy metropolis and if I have enough money, I can enjoy its entertainment: live in a wonderful hotel, go sightseeing, shopping, visit parties, meet people, try some delicious food in restaurants and so on.
Another place I would definitely visit is one of historical cities of my country (and maybe one of the other country). I would admire its beautiful architecture, visit some museums. I would improve my cultural education so.
I would definitely try something I have never done. Maybe I would go to the Alps and take up mountain climbing or snowboarding.  I would also like to make a voyage to the islands.

Finally, I would take my friends with me to this trip and we all could have fun together!

Amazing Survived Story

Nowadays there is a lot of advice how to survive, for example, after a crash on an island. But there are only few stories of a real survival, because it is really hard and challenging. I would like to tell you a story of an amazing survival that happened in 2005 in the island Pillopania.

Thirty-three year old Indian called Michal survived after tsunami on the island. On the 26 of December he was going to visit his bride and relatives that lived on the other island. Suddenly (during his way) a huge wave rose and Michal found himself underwater. He was thrown on the coast, and then he climbed up the hill and spent few days there. He tried to find someone but after tsunami the island became uninhabited. More than five thousand people disappeared that day. Michal spent one month alone on this island eating coconuts. In one ruined house he found a small hammer, so he obtained food with it.

He was found by a rescuer team of a marine. Michal was exhausted and badly-wounded. Most of his relatives and friends died that day. It also turned out that he was in the list of people that had disappeared.

My ideal round-the-world trip

My ideal round-the-world trip

Round-the-world trip is one of the greatest things I can do in my life. I often think about this option and imagine my hypothetical ideal future journey.
At first, I'd like to say one extremely clear and obvious statement: I'd like to include in my list all places I have ever dreamed to visit, so this travel has to be really long and saturated. The best place to begin my round-the-world trip is my Motherland Russia. There are many wild places, for example, somewhere in Siberia where we still can't find any signs of humanity. It is the place, where a person can feel all strength of loneliness and consider about his life, his part in the history.
I think that USA is an ideal alternative for the next country because of miles of contrasts: enormous cities full of people, cars, skyscrapers and silent and calm little towns with local traditions, sights and calm life. Cold and inhospitable Alaska and hot, criminally, south Albuquerque.
The next place is South America with all its traditions and cultural diversity. I want to stay in Europe for really long time and visit all cities and enjoy this time: Berlin, London, Rome etc. I don't like Eastern civilization, that's why I don' want to visit Asian countries, but from the rest of the world I would like to participate in safari in Africa and enjoy sun and nature in Australia.
In conclusion, I' d to say that it isn't the full list of all my plans and wishes, so I will add something to it. Also, the ideal trip is extremely expensive, I have to study and work a lot.

Why do we still need gender roles?

Gender roles appeared many years ago. While men were hunting, women were looking after babies, cooking, etc. Nowadays, we can often notice that some duties of men and women have mixed. For example men stay at home and do housework but women work and provide their families. But we still need gender roles!

We still need this separation, because for example women are't as physically strong as men are, so they can't properly do jobs such as loader, builder or fire keeper. Also gender roles genetically laid in each person and we can't destroy theese roles because they keep our habitual lifestyle.

In conclusion i'd like to say, that we need gender roles, because this separation has always existed and we don't need to change our habbits,

Real gentalmen are a thing at the past.

Today, the problem of decreasing the number of gentalmen is seemed to be worldwide.

To  my mind most men have a tendency not to be a gentalmen. Gentalmen haven't got demand in our society, it is caused by women's bahaviour. Particularly in last centyry, women are tend to be independent: to earn their's living not to have children and eventually not to get married. This philosophy has broken rules of ordinary relationships between man and woman, so that men were made to change the way of behaving too.
On the other hand, some people think, that a kind of men called gentalmen exists nowadays. They say about such people as about the only right type of male human. They claim, that moral qualities of these people and attitude to women are most proper.
I don't agree with this opinion, because world is changing and people are no exception. As far as i am concerned, it is not a mistake to change yourself in consern with other members of the society, because it is natural process.
To sum up, i would like to say, that our life is not permanent, so that relationships and rules between people change and disappearing of such kind of people as gentalmen is only a result of it.

Real gentlemen are a thing of the past

Nowadays during reading books about the past we can notice that norms of behavior had changed. From my point of view spiritual values had changed too.

More than 100 years ago honor was the most important thing for men (and for women too). Boys were brought up knowing that it was necessary to know and keep the rules of decency. Gentlemen had to follow unwritten rules to keep their honor and the honor of their families. Men were ready to do everything that would help the ladies, their friends and maybe sometimes even unknown person.

Now most of these values had changed. The world “honor” had lost its meaning. Many people use it without putting any sense in it. Nowadays most men live just they want. They are coming in their own way, regardless of the opinion of others. Such people rarely care about surroundings and their opinions. I do not want to say every one doing like this! Of course, there are men which take care of others and follow the rules of decency. Society calls them “polite” just because the world “gentlemen” is out of date. But unfortunately, men like that are becoming less and less.

That is the reason I think that real gentlemen are becoming a thing of the past.

Real gentlemen are the thing of the past?

Real Gentlemen are thing of the past?

Nowadays there are a lot of people who think that there are no more real gentlemen. Most of these people (who thinks so) are women. Maybe this opinion is true, but I think in the different way.
From my point of view, every man on the planet is different from another one. The character, appearance and the mood are different. Every man wants to be special and I think that it is absolutely normal. Firstly, everything depends on the person. Secondly, what does the word 'gentlemen' means? A lot of people even don't know. As far as I know, in the past the man could be a gentleman in the only one way: he had to be from the royal family. But now, it means the person who follows safety rules, loves women, helps them.
I'm sure that every man wants people to respect him because of his ruels and beliefs. But if you really want to be a respectable person, you have to respect others.
In conclusion, I would like to say that everybody can be a gentleman and this is not very difficult.

Real gentlemen are the thing of the past

Nowadays we can everywhere hear this really popular phrase from lone women or weak men to acquit their bad private situation or sneaky deed. Usually people use this statement to describe moral dignities of the past. I offer to think about this determination and find out if it is true or false.

First of all, it goes without saying that many priciples since, for example, 19 century, changed a lot and, to be honesty, now there aren't any strict rules and fear of breaking them. Men used to be really ideal: gentlemen according to women's opinion used to be physically strong, used to be very intelligent and have high mental principles. So, we have an example of ideal man like Zarathustra. But I am convinced that it is impossible to be without any drawbacks and “the real gentleman” means example which every man has to follow. Nowadays there are real gentlemen too, but there is no cult about these words. Moreover we don't have to forget about ladies and strict tenets they should follow.

In conclusion I'd like to say again that it is the statement is absolutely incorrect and we don't have to care about it. It is impossible to be an ideal person, but, obviously, we should have moral limits and follow them.

Real Gentlmen are a thing of the past

Nowadays there is an opinion that men are not gentlmen any more. Most probably this opinion has arised because of women. They are always annoyed with men but I am not such girl who doesn't appreciate men. I have a different point of view and want to share it.
In my opinion every man is different from another because of breeding, character and possibilities that's why we can't say confidently that present-day men are not gentlmen. Furthermore, everything dependens on person. If man wants to be a gentlman, he will be such one. However, there are men who are no gentlmen because they don't know that the courtesy is the badge of a gentlmen. I am sure that there is no woman on the Earth who won't be lovely to be taken care of because all of us really need a gentlman. It goes without saying that it is not very difficult to be a gentlmen but every single man chooses for himself who he would like to be. Man can't be born a gentlman, he only can achieve it.
In conclusion, I would like to say that there are a lot of pros and cons. Many men, many minds.

Ladies first?

Ladies first?

A long time ago when there were knights in shining armour, men used to appreciate and respect women. For example, they used to fight in honour of their ladies, they used to carry about them.
Now our living has changed dramatically. Today women got enough rights and seem to be equal to men. Maybe that’s why majority of men forgot that they should take care of women because they (women) are actually weaker.
However, despite the equality, most people believe that hitting a woman make man no respect. Women can’t hit back. Few centuries ago, on the contrary, a husband hitting his wife was a normal thing!
Nevertheless, nowadays boys can easily insult girls or treat them badly. Moreover, girls are used to being more sensitive than boys, so they hurt more. As for me, this is no good. Boys and men should think about girls’ feelings.
Frankly, men are better than women in the majority of activities and jobs. They were borned to be stronger. They are to protect women.

Personally, I believe that women have harder lives. Therefore, men should treat them more indulgently and take more care of them.

Why we still need gender roles?

Nowadays, in our society we have many prejudices and stereotypes about gender roles. Such as "gender roles are definitely important for the society" or "gender roles establish our identity". I would like to discuss the pros and cons of gender roles being important.
Firstly, i'd like to talk about pros. Many people think that 'it's in our nature'; that on the one hand the major part of women were born with the nature of being caring, domestic etc, and on the other hand the majority of men are more used to protecting, providing.  Also there's an opinion that gender roles are very important for the society. Without them there'll be chaos.
Secondly, i'd like to say about cons. Gender roles are outdated.  They aren't important for the society (68% of todays families aren't traditional). Every one is a very complex and contradictory, we don't even understand how does our body(especially brain) works, so how could we state how each person should be.
To conclusion, i'd like to add that in my opinion gender roles are absolutely unimportant nor to the society neither to humans nature at all.
